Lift Partners is proud to welcome the Seattle Mart (SeattleMart.com) to Plant 1 for 82,000 SF.
The Seattle Mart is an association comprising of more than forty individual wholesale showroom business owners spanning a diverse retail lineup of gift, houseware, toy, décor, accessories and apparel. Formerly known as the Pacific Market Center that had been in operation since 1980, the relocation to Plant 1 offered an opportunity to rebrand the concept to the Seattle Mart. The Seattle Mart’s grand opening is scheduled for August 2016 in conjunction with the Seattle Gift Show.
Plant 1 was constructed in 1929 and served as the original headquarters for the Boeing Corporation following its startup days on the shores of Lake Union. Bill Boeing purchased the Duwamish River site from a bankrupt shipyard builder for $10 dollars in 1909 and with an unwavering entrepreneurial spirit, built his company on the site over the next 50 years. The third floor served as Bill Boeing's office and housed many of Boeing’s engineers and office workers. Photos shown above are circa 1930s including Bill Boeing standing in front of Plant 1. The Seattle Mart is proud to call Plant 1 home and carry its spirit forward into a new chapter.
The Seattle Mart was represented by Bryan Hester with CBRE and Lift Partners by Nick Carkonen and Nate Fliflet with CBRE. Lift Partners thanks CBRE for its help on both sides of the transaction. Plant 1 was purchased by Lift Partners in a partnership with Blackbird Investment Group and Acre Valley Real Estate Capital, LLC.
